About the workshop: In this calligraphic workshop students will practice the fundamentals of writing Mr. Greco’s original hand, Toltec Gothic. Students will learn minuscules and majuscules as well as a series of abstract glyphs. The course will include flourishing and swashes and will conclude with composing a few lines of text, combining two different pen sizes. It might be a bit challenging, but will be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience.
About the instructor: Mr. Greco is one of America's most experienced practitioners of traditionally inspired hand lettering and calligraphy. He is the recipient of numerous design awards and has received a certificate for city beautification from the L.A. mayor's office.
After decades of logo design practice, he has turned his expertise towards "Calligraphitti" fine art and large scale murals in L.A. under the pseudonym "Toltec".
He is a former instructor of Expressive Type at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
