Workshop Description...
In this class you will learn to draw the underlying structure of simple Celtic knots, so that you can go on to create your own unique knots, whether traditional in nature, or something more whimsical. We will first work on basic rectangles, and then progress to triangles, freeform shapes, and circles. The goal is not to complete a finished piece, but to provide the skills necessary for future creation of your own knotwork. Once you have learned the basic principles, it will be easy to translate those skills into more advanced work, such as making letterforms with your knots
About Nancy...
Nancy Hays Hills worked in advertising and graphic design, from which she retired in 2020 to devote more time to her dual vocations of ministry and art. In addition to individual pieces, she has been working in art journals for over 20 years, and her artwork from those journals has appeared in
Alphabet, Bound & Lettered, and in the most recent
Speedball Textbook. She shares a home with her husband Julian, and her trusty feline sidekick, Samantha, who has been known to make her presence known during Zoom meetings.

Registration is for Society for Calligraphy members only. Your membership must be current at time of sign-up as well as when class is held. No reservation will be held until your dues are current. If your membership lapses, you become ineligible and your space will be filled from the waiting list. Signups are accepted in advance on a first come, first served basis. No refunds unless your place can be filled from a wait list. If you must cancel, please allow sufficient time for your place to be filled. For prompt receipt of supply list and confirmation, your registration should be complete, or your check should arrive no later than two weeks before the workshop.
