Description
Nothing indicates the holiday season more than a wreath hanging on a front door. Wreaths exude a sense of joy and a desire for peace, as its circular shape symbolizes unity and never ending love and life. Spring and Summer wreaths represent new life and growth. Autumn wreaths represent change and the circle of life. On winter wreaths, for me, leaves represent the tree of life, symbolizing health and growth, the pine needles represent peace (the Tree of Peace), the holly leaves represent hope, and the poinsettia represents good cheer. We will be combining all four elements to create a beautiful image, using watercolor techniques that you can use to make cards and decorate envelopes. The Zoom invitation will be sent a couple days before the event.

Students must be set up to take a Zoom class with video and audio (signed on with a single device).
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Pencil
Eraser
Compass, protractor, or something round to trace (4" circle)
Pen holder and a pointed nib (only if you have one or you want to try it)
Palette with at least 2 deep or slanted wells
2 watercolors - green and red (such as Serpentine Genuine, Pyrrol Scarlet)
Metallic gold pen or watercolor (such as Coliro Finetec)
Wedge/Triangle watercolor paintbrush (angle, dagger, or pointed round brushes will work )
Dropper / pipette
Large cup of water for rinsing
Small cup of water to keep clean for the palette
Pigma Micron Sepia (03) or brown fineliner
Watercolor paper of your choice (6x6 and a larger sheet for practice)
Paper towel
