Description:
The 2 hour class will cover what is a cadel and the basic characteristics. Since there were no standard cadel exemplars and few exemplars printed in writing manuals, each scribe developed his own unique style across Europe. The class will be a journey through different cadel styles, showing different design techniques from Flamel’s simpler style to more complex letters by Rossi and Palatino. We will also cover how to use patterns to develop your own capitals.
